Cod Burger with Apple

We love our flaky cod fillet burger. With a sweet appley crispness, soft airy bun, and a zingy lemon zest, it’s a fried treat gone in minutes! The star is our perfectly balanced tartare sauce—creamy, tangy, and packed with fresh herbs, complementing the crispy cod flawlessly. Pair with golden fries or a refreshing salad for a satisfying, unforgettable meal. Every ingredient creates a flavour symphony you’ll crave again!

For the apple sauce

  • Mix your breadcrumbs in a bowl with lemon zest and smoked sea salt and black pepper.
  • Prepare your cod fillets by coating in flour and then dipping in beaten egg. Next coat in the panko breadcrumbs.
  • Leave to one side whilst you make an apple sauce.
  • For the apple sauce, peel and chop and place into a saucepan. Simmer for 20 mins in the cider vinegar until the apple softens.
  • Sprinkle over some sugar and remove from the heat, allow to cool.
  • Place the coated fish with the breadcrumbs and spray with oil all over. Place onto gresae proof paper or air fryer liner.
  • Cook at 180 for 15-20 minutes checking after 10 minutes, maybe turn over and keep an eye on util crispy and golden all over,
  • Toast your bread roll and spread the base with some mayonaisse. 
  • Place on some lettuce. Add your crispy cod fillet and a generous spoonful of apple sauce. 
  • Serve with 2 granary baps and fries or salad
